Terms of Service
This Agreement (the “Terms of Service”) forms a legal contract between you (“Client”) and The Friends of the Gwinnett County Public Library, Inc. (“FOL”) that governs your access and use of the Friends of the Gwinnett County Public Library, Inc. services and software. By using any of the Services or the Platform, Client agrees to be bound by this Agreement. If Client is using the Platform or Services on behalf of an organization, Client agrees to this Agreement for that organization and representing to the FOL that Client has the authority to bind the organization to their Agreement (in which event, “Client” will refer to the organization). Client may use the Platform and Services only in compliance with this Agreement and only if Client has the power to form a contract with the FOL and is not barred under any applicable laws from doing so.
IF CLIENT DOES NOT AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS AGREEMENT, CLIENT MUST NOT USE THE PLATFORM OR SERVICES.
ABOUT THE FRIENDS OF THE GWINNETT COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY, INC.
The Friends of the Gwinnett County Public Library, Inc., provides a platform (www.friendsgcpl.org) and service that allows the FOL’s Clients (“Clients”) to register for Events and buy products from the FOL.
The FOL is a service provider for our Clients. This Terms of Service explains the information practices and policies of The Friends of the Gwinnett County Public Library, Inc. It describes how we collect, use, and disclose information as consumers and Clients interact with the FOL’s services, including its website.
COLLECTION AND USE OF CLIENT INFORMATION
The FOL collects information about our Clients and consumers who visit the FOL’s website (“Visitors”). This information can include Personal Information (which means individually identifiable information that would allow us to determine the actual identity of, and contact, a specific living person), billing information, account settings and other data (“Client Data”).
The FOL collects this data in order to provide services to our Clients and does not disclose, sell or use Client Data for any purpose other than those outlined in this Policy.
The FOL acts as a limited agent to each Client only for the purpose of providing the FOL’s services. The FOL does not use Client Data for our own purposes, except in limited circumstances described in this Policy, or unless we have express consent. The FOL does not sell Client Data to third parties. The FOL collects, uses and discloses Client Data to:
- Provide our Services
- Manage our Services
- Monitor and Improve our Services and Features
- Create New Services, Features or Content
- Contact Clients about Service or Account
- Contact Clients for Marketing Purposes
- Respond to Legal Requests
Public Data and Metadata
The FOL may anonymize Client metadata to create and provide new services, features, or content. Neither individual Clients nor Product Experts will be identified or identifiable unless the FOL obtains Client permission.
Usage and Device Data
The FOL collects usage data about Visitors to our website, including pageviews, clicks, and log files containing originating IP addresses. In addition, the FOL collects data from the device and applications used to access our Services including IP address and browser type.
The FOL records if a Visitor arrives at the FOL website from an external source (such as a link on another website or in an email).
Information from Third Parties
The FOL collects Personal Information or other data from third parties, if Clients give permission to those third parties to share your information with us.
The FOL will use Personal Information only in ways compatible with the purposes for which it was collected or authorized by our Clients.
Our Clients limit The FOL’s collection, use and disclosure of their customers’ information through the FOL’s Services. We keep information we need to provide our services to our Clients as long as we have a valid business purpose, in accordance with applicable law and our Service.
In most cases, our collection of Personal information is related to our Clients and collected under the terms of our Agreement.
Individuals that wish to request access to, correction, or deletion of Personal Information they submitted to the FOL website should contact The FOL at President@friendsgcpl.org.
No data transmissions over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. The FOL cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information transmitted to the FOL. All transmissions of information are done at the senders own risk. Once the FOL is in possession of any information, the FOL will make reasonable efforts to ensure the security of its systems.
The FOL has adopted physical, technological, and administrative procedures to safeguard and secure the information we process.
By using this website or providing Personal Information to us, you agree that we can communicate with you electronically regarding security, privacy, and administrative issues relating to your use of this website.
CHANGES AND UPDATES
The FOL will maintain Personal Information in accordance with this Policy. If the FOL decides to change this Policy, we will post the changes on this page so that Clients and Visitors are aware of our practices. If at any point the FOL decides to retain or use Personal Information in a different manner, the FOL will notify its Clients using methods set out by the terms of its Agreement.
